Cigarette Warnings in Europe

The photo above is of a cigarette package we found in the
Jekyll & Hyde pub in Edinburgh, Scotland. Note the huge warning:
Smoking seriously harms you and others around you
That's one of the tamer ones too! On one side of the pack, it says "Smoking kills" or the note above. Then on the other side, it has to include another warning like "Smoking is highly addictive, don't start" and "Smoking can cause a slow and painful death." By EU law, the first notice has to cover at least 30% of the pack and the second has to cover 40%. That's a real warning... not some of the legalese tip-toe "warnings" we see in the US.
The Surgeon General's warning on cigarettes in the United States is weak.
